YOUR ATA NEEDS YOU!

The ATA is a totally voluntary organisation benefitting local good causes. It thrives because of the work our volunteers do.

If you enjoy the visits, talks, walks, social meals and discounts we need your help.

Currently, we need someone to learn to use SendPulse mail to send  out bulk emails. (Tim says it is simple!)

Could you help manage the discount providers list ?

Have you any ideas of restaurants who could host future 28th meals?

All of these roles would be shared with others. You don’t need to be on the island full times. “Swallows” we need you too!

15th January – 2pm  Visit to Sunken Boat with Owen Gander. In the late 1960s, Owen was one of the original team of divers who raised this cargo ship. It is the oldest known merchant ship. We will have access to artifacts not on public display.

28th January, Social Gathering – Green Lotus, Alsancak. Chinese meal

9th February Chris Lightfoot’s talk “Musings of a Metropolitan Museum Curator” a light hearted view and not to be missed.

28th February Visit to Bandabulya for tasting. The Girne Bandabulya should be reopened as a market for women’s cooperatives.  We plan a tasting or  meal in the area.

March TBA Dr Robin Snape on SPOT. The talk will cover the history, the current project and its place in Mediterranean and international context.

28th March Social Gathering Meal We are looking for suggestions from members

An event for everyone, ladies and gentlemen and couples also welcome.

What could be better than a relaxing spa day to rejuvenate.

CAR SHARING: Please indicate if you intend to drive to this event by car, and would be prepared to offer a lift to a person who cannot drive but would like to attend this event (state how many people you could offer a lift to and where you live).

PLEASE NOTE: should you book to attend this event and subsequently cancel after the cut-off date (15th november), YOU are liable for the full payment price of the event, which is to be paid at the associations next membership clinic. We will not accept bookings from those who persistently cancel.

A minimum donation to help those local ‘Good Causes’ the association supports is included in the price.

Ismet Ramiz and Tim Morgan from the ATA dropped off more bottletops, collected by our supporters, to Günay Kibrit this week.

Günay commented that the ongoing support of the ATA both bottletops and financial is welcome and helps them provide valuable services to those who need help gaining mobility.
